Each year on March 25th, believers all over the world commemorate the Feast of the Annunciation, which celebrates the Angel Gabriel’s message to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear a son. That message of hope and lovingkindness is the inspiration for Annunciation Maternity Home’s name and mission.
Following in the footsteps of the Angel Gabriel, Annunciation Maternity Home strives to provide peace and security to young women facing crisis pregnancies. We offer safe housing, opportunities to work and to study, and support for the needs of young mothers as they raise their children. Our mission to serve these women helps not only to save lives, but also to transform lives by lifting women and children out of poverty. Annunciation creates a path to success and independence for vulnerable families to dream for a better future.
However, on the cusp of our feast day, Annunciation Maternity Home is facing an unprecedented blow to our continued success. In the wake of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, Annunciation has had to undertake operational changes in order to safeguard the health of the women and children under our care. Like many organizations, businesses, and families across the nation, we have taken pains to protect our residents from any harm, but these precautions have also created difficulties which we urgently need to address.
Annunciation Maternity Home faces a significant shortfall in our budget, due to the cancellation of our annual benefit dinner. We are also confronted with rising costs to implement safety measures for our residents. The mothers in our home are experiencing reduced opportunity to attend work or school, which is vital to their personal growth on their journey to self-sufficiency.
In the face of these difficulties, we recall the words of the Angel to Mary: “Nothing shall be impossible with God.” None of these problems are insurmountable, and we are blessed to be in a stable position to continue our operations. But we need your help to ensure that we are able to provide the same excellent quality of care throughout this situation and beyond.
We understand the concerns you may also be facing. But we ask you to prayerfully consider making a financial gift to our Home of whatever amount you are able to during this emergency. Your support has been vital to the success of our programs, and your support is needed now more than ever.
Will you make a gift today to sustain our mission at this crucial hour of need? Click here to visit our donation page for this appeal. Thank you for your support, and may God bless you and your loved ones during this time.
